Following all of the attention over the past couple of years regarding the abusive nature of the Bureau of Land Management and the controversy over land that has been unconstitutionally grabbed by the DC government, things are finally coming to a head. Rep. Jason Chaffetz (R-UT) has put forth a piece of legislation that would “terminate the law enforcement functions of the Forest Service and the Bureau of Land Management and to provide block grants to States for the enforcement of Federal law on Federal land under the jurisdiction of these agencies, and for other purposes.” If you want to see what the bill is all about look up HR 5751 titled “Local Enforcement for Local Lands Act.” Well it looks like the true winners in the Oregon wildlife refuge were the occupiers themselves, which I'm sure made Jason Chaffetz look into Bureau of Land Management even deeper. He must of found something very UnConstitutional in BLM to bring this bill to fruition. So to all the ranchers and farmers in America this is simply a victory for you. Well not a victory yet, but by bringing a bill to fruition that will possibly end Bureau of Land Management. At least we now have something on the table that could possibly end this UnConstitutional land grab by the government. To be honest under the US Constitution Washington can only have Federal land for military bases and ports, and that privilege must be granted by the states.
