President Obama and his Republican opponents are making the final preparations for a public relations war over the vacancy on the Supreme Court. It is likely to be one of the most heated confirmation fights in recent memory, with both sides expected to unleash television ads, opposition research and grassroots organizing aimed at gaining the upper hand for the November elections. This will likely be the main event of this week and next. Only to of course take place during the 2016 election, where people won't pay attention to this more important subject. Remember if you understand our laws, that the people who sit on this bench get the final say in most laws signed by the president. These are also the people who can write off Constitutional law, which is why Obama should not be able to nominate in his last year. Obama himself said no to a president Bush nomination in 2006 while he was senator of Illinois. Americans can only hope that someone on the senate judicial committee will bring up his nomination filibuster in 2006, which alone should make senators in Washington DC say hell no to this last year president. Also a president who treads on the US Constitution should not be allowed to admit that it is his Constitutional duty to nominate a judge. Play attention to the election, but remember that this nomination choice is still going on.
