The National Community Reinvestment Coalition (NCRC) is calling on financial regulators to declare Flint, Mich., a designated disaster area in response to the city’s water crisis. The group wrote to federal officials on Thursday asking them to encourage banks to make loans to the city and its residents to help repair or replace corroded pipes that contaminated the water supply with lead. It should of been called a disaster area when the water problem in Flint started almost a couple years ago. I mean they only declared a state of emergency when all the media outlets started talking about it. Asking America's big banks to solve the problem has to be the most laughable thing I've heard of since the beginning of this crisis. If it's one thing banks don't wanna do, it's to give financial help to end a crisis. Crisis is one thing the big banks love most. If the big banks to help I'm sure they will put a high interest rate on the money they give away. If even the money they would give away even amounted to a single dollar.
