Islamic State (IS, formerly ISIS/ISIL) is selling antiquities looted from Syria to buyers in the US and Europe as a means of funding its terrorist activities. The jihadists are transporting the artifacts out of the country via Turkey according to documents from IS’s Ministry of Natural Resources, obtained exclusively by an RT documentary crew. Yaya J. Fanusie, director of analysis at the Center on Sanctions and Illicit Finance told RT that this is a “very strategically important source of revenue for Islamic State”. “There’s definitely a pipeline that goes through the states that border the region, so Turkey is one location where there’s a lot of smuggling,”he said. Middlemen have told the center that buyers are coming from the US and Europe – but they haven’t documented the final buyers. That's right folks you read that right, Americans are buying stolen ancient artifacts from ISIS to support the radical Islamic group. It's now time for law enforcement around America to track packages coming from both Syria and Iraq, and hold those accountable in America who are funding ISIS with stolen artifacts. Anyone in America who is buying stolen artifacts from ISIS, should be held in the court of law for supporting terrorism. These people probably think they are just buying a part of history or saving history, while even knowing they are buying these artifacts from the radical Islamic group. Sorry to tell these Americans, but if your buying items from ISIS, you are only as bad as the group itself. You almost have to be curious if museums based off ancient history are buying these ancient artifacts from ISIS, or if groups with ties to ancient cultures or charities are solely buying these items in America and Europe. If you buy stuff from ISIS even if you aren't part of the group or trying to protect history by doing so, sorry but you are in the same box as terrorist for funding their operation though blood artifacts.
