Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell tried Sunday to keep Senate Republicans united behind his decision to not hold confirmation hearings this election year for a Supreme Court nominee, saying “the American people should have a voice.” The Kentucky Republican was standing by his decision, despite increasing pressure to at least hold hearings now that President Obama has nominated appellate Judge Merrick Garland, considered a moderate who might appeal to conservatives and liberals. Remember that this Mitch McConnell guy just gave Obama invincible war powers earlier back in January of this year through a new AUMF, which allows Obama to use the military when and where he chooses to without the senate being notified. So can America truly trust McConnell in that he will not allow Obama to get his nominee before the 2016 election. Mr. McConnell you just have given Americas worst president in history a massive amount of war power, what makes you think Americans can trust you into not allowing Obama to get his judge pick? Giving Obama the power to throw our military at other nations and maybe even onto the home land, makes me and many Americans think that you in fact will give him his choice. Even after Obama filibustered a Justice nomination by George Bush in 2006. I believe you will wait to give Obama this power once 90 percent of America is spending their free time concerning themselves with the 2016 candidates. If you and your senate friends decide to say yes, remember that you will be going against the 2nd amendment. For this judge basically killed the right of Americans to own legal guns in Washington DC. If you allow this judge to be nominated, get ready for the state of Kentucky to vote against you in the next senate vote.
