At least 10 people have been arrested after Turkish police broke up the Kurdish Newroz festivities in the town of Silopi. Officers deployed water cannon to disperse the crowd which gathered in defiance of Ankara’s ban on mass gatherings amid a crackdown on Kurdish militants. Several hundreds of people flocked to the streets of Silopi in southeastern Sirnak province for the Newroz (the Persian New Year also celebrated by the Kurds) festivities, organized by the pro-Kurdish People's Democracy Party despite a ban on public gatherings, local media reported. The Turkish violence on the Kurdish people is starting to look a lot like Israel and Palestine. This time it is a mainline Muslim nation inflicting violence on a minority Christian group that are the Kurdish people. Russia leaves Syria and Turkey doesn't stop it's actions on the Kurdish people. Yet Erdogan claims the PKK are terrorist, when the PKK is the only group who can truly protect the Kurdish people. If we in America consider the Kurdish people are friends like we do as a nation, then why hasn't are president issued any sanctions on Turkey like he is Russia. Oh ya that's right because Turkey is a NATO member, and they partake in the IMF banking system unlike Russia. Let's not forget that ex US military members are fighting off ISIS fighters in Syria and Iraq alongside the Kurdish PKK, which I'm guessing both Obama and Erdogan consider terrorist. When they both have yet to even call ISIS what it is, when the both of them are quick to jump to conclusion that the PKK are nothing but terrorist.
