A veterans group on Wednesday blasted Veterans Affairs Secretary Robert McDonald's comparison of wait times at VA clinics to lines at Disney parks after he said Tuesday he "deeply" regretted if his remarks implied he didn't take his job seriously. "McDonald’s comparison demonstrates a supreme lack of sensitivity and concern for those who’ve made tremendous sacrifices for their country," said Thomas Snee, the national executive director of the Fleet Reserve Association, which represents enlisted Navy, Marine Corps and Coast Guard service members. “The men and women who serve in our military didn’t wait to answer the call to serve,” he said. "Comparing access to VA services to waiting for an amusement park ride is insulting and demeaning.”At a breakfast on Monday, ahead of Memorial Day weekend, McDonald told reporters: "When you go to Disney, do they measure the number of hours you wait in line? What's important — what's important is what's your satisfaction with the experience." The thing is with his Disneyland ride line remarks unlike the VA you eventually get to ride rides as Disneyland. With the VA however you usually have to wait weeks to months to get medical care as a veteran under the Obama Veteran Affairs staff. Veterans are better off now if they just go and get help at local hospitals and clinics in the towns and cities they live in, rather then taking the chance of going to regional VA centers for care where are veterans might possibly be put on hold for care for weeks to years. You have seen it multiple times where veterans who are on hold for care at VA hospitals tend to pass away when waiting months for medical care. Waiting for medical care at the VA, is more like a kid waiting to figure out who their birth parents were if they were separated from them at birth.
