Hersheypark has publicly declared its position on what type of restrooms transgender people can use. The amusement park says guests and employees may continue to use restrooms with which they gender-identify, or they’re welcome to use a family restroom. A statement released by Hershey Entertainment and Resorts Company spokeswoman Kathy Burrows says Hersheypark, “has and will always strive to accommodate all guests and employees – including members of the LGBT community – to ensure those visiting or working at Hersheypark are comfortable and feel secure.” Hershey Entertainment and Resorts is the latest company to make a stand on the debate. The Target retail store chain this week, in a statement posted on its website, said transgender employees and customers can use the restroom or fitting room facility that “corresponds with their gender identity.” Starbucks and book retailer Barnes & Noble have similar policies. As Americans we thought perverted men being allowed to use restrooms were bad. Now we have an American amusement park where kids go to play, to now be joined by men in female bathrooms at Hershey's thrill park facility in Pennsylvania. 50 percent of visitors mostly under the age of 18 who now have to share bathrooms with male predators. This should sicken us more then even the issue being policy at Target, because amusement parks are where our children go to play for the summer. The sad part about this is that amusement parks are an American past time in the summer months. Now where kids go to play and are usually mostly alone without their parents unlike Target, might just be a more dangerous situation because kids could get picked off rather easily at amusement parks.
