Coming just a month after Project Gotham Shield, a major nuclear detonation drill in the New York-New Jersey area, a false alarm that went out to some people’s television sets Tuesday might have scared some in New Jersey. As NBC New York reports, a nuclear power plant warning issued in Cumberland and Salem counties was sent out by mistake. The message that was sent out said “a civil authority has issued a nuclear power plant warning for the following counties/areas.” A short time later, the New Jersey Office of Emergency Management Tweeted that the emergency alert was “false.
Well that's something you just never want to wake up to isn't it. Now authorities tied to New Jersey's emergency alert system state this was an error...Broadcasting a nuclear alert warning is a pretty big error if you ask anyone. This is odd because this did happen a month after Operation Gotham Shield...Which was a nuclear disaster training drill conducted mostly by FEMA and local authorities on the NYC side in New Jersey.
A nuclear warning being broadcasted on an emergency alert system anywhere in America shouldn't be dubbed as an error, because how does something like this even get broadcasted? Either this emergency message was a hack or it's an actual warning for something coming up. If you ask anyone in America an EAS system broadcasting a nuclear warning shouldn't be considered an error.
