Created Equal, a pro-life group notorious for showing graphic anti-abortion images, was hoping to fly a giant picture of an aborted fetus over the Republican National Convention in Cleveland and the Democratic National Convention in Philadelphia.
But the Federal Aviation Administration has instituted a no-fly zone for a 34-mile radius during both events, forcing the group to adjust its plans. The ban will take effect for certain hours from July 17 to 22 in Cleveland and from July 25 to 29 in Philadelphia.
Only approved law enforcement, military aircraft being directly used for the conventions, medical emergency planes and regularly scheduled commercial and cargo flights will be permitted to fly in the region. A plane is already towing an aerial banner around downtown Cleveland with the phrase “Rescue Unborn Children” scrawled across it. The operation is an effort to capture the GOP’s attention and ensure policymakers and leaders are committed to defunding Planned Parenthood and enacting abortion restrictions. Well there goes everyone's free speech right if they want to fly airplane banners. Likely this move was put in place by democratic officials in the city with help of the Federal government. No fly zones tend to get enacted above war zones around the world, so do they think something is going to go down at these conventions by enacting a war like no fly zone over the cities of Cleveland and Philadelphia? Enacting no fly zones in America is very disturbing to me, because as a veteran they tend to occur in only "war zones." If you know what a no fly zone is then this should only worry you.
