Washington reserves the right to strike targets in Yemen whenever “necessary and appropriate,” President Obama told Congress after the US military carried out its first direct attack in the bloody conflict, using the pretext of self-defense. This week, for the first time since the 18-month-old conflict began, USS Nitze launched Tomahawk cruise missiles at targets in Yemen in retaliation for alleged attacks on the US Navy. The initial Pentagon assessment said that the“self-defense” attack resulted in the destruction of three radar sites, with no indications of civilian casualties. On Friday US President Barack Obama informed Congress about authorizing the strikes “in response to anti-ship cruise missile launches perpetrated by Houthi insurgents.” In the “War Powers Resolution” letter, Obama stated that US armed forces targeted radar facilities which the US believes had been involved in “the October 9 launches and other recent attacks.” “These limited and proportionate strikes were conducted to protect our personnel and our ships and will preserve our freedom of navigation in this important maritime passageway,” Obama explained. Just like Bush Obama has now placed us in the Yemen civil war, now vowing more strikes in Yemen without the approval from Congress! Obama may of told Congress what he was doing, but Obama did what he did and has involved us in a new middle east conflict without going through Congress. It's time for Obama to be stripped of his Nobel Peace Prize once again America, as this proves president Obama knows nothing about peace and staying out of other nations conflicts. Once again also Obama is breaking Constitutional law by placing our military power in a foreign conflict without a Declaration Of War from the house floor. You got to bet that since Obama is using military power against the Houthi Rebels backed by Iran, that Obama now is officially supporting both ISIS and Saudi Arabia in the conflict...This is simply a brand new Libya as the goal of Yemen is to take out the Yemen president Ali Abdullah Saleh, in hopes to place a Muslim Brotherhood cabinet in the nation of Yemen.
