Ohio State University in Columbus has been placed on lockdown due to reports of an active shooter on campus. At least one person appears to have been killed and there are reports of multiple injuries. The Buckeyes got an alert message from the university authorities instructing them to “Run Hide Fight.” The incident was pinpointed to “Watts Hall. 19th [Avenue] and College [Road].” Local media have reported that “at least three people were shot” on campus. The authorities are yet to release any information. Students are still being instructed to shelter in place. Eight people have been taken to the hospital, one of them in critical condition, WCMH reported, citing the Columbus Fire Department. A ninth person was being treated for injuries at the scene and may still be transported to a nearby hospital. The suspect is described as “male, black, light complexion, short hair,” according to scanner traffic. The incident reportedly began when a car rammed into people evacuating Watts Hall during a fire alarm around 9:40am local time. At least two people got out of the car, one with a knife or a machete and one with a gun, law enforcement sources told the Columbus Dispatch. However, police have not confirmed whether a second suspect was involved. Three things in this attack should show that this was ISIS inspired, first the attack started with a car ramming people, then most of the injured were attacked by a machete, finally the suspect is described as a black male light complexion. All evidence is pointing to a radical Islamist attack, and the suspects complexion sounds more Arab than black. If this ends up being a radical Islamist attack carried out by an Arab, once again meaning that radical Islam has struck again in the United States under Obama. Also the attacker made sure this was a gun free zone first, which is the number one target for ISIS in America in the first place.
