Democratic demands for $600 million in emergency funding is threatening to take down a bipartisan bill tackling the nation’s growing opioid addition. Legislation backed by Sens. Sheldon Whitehouse (D-R.I.) and Rob Portman (R-Ohio) is coming to the Senate floor this week. Wait a quick second didn't we protect the opium fields in Afghanistan with our nations bravest. So where I' getting at with this is that our government created the problem of opioid and heroin abuse in America. So before anyone blames our government for the problem, our government is willing to fight a problem they alone started. So i'm guessing the war in Afghanistan wasn't to fight off Al-Quadea? The reason we were in Afghanistan because we were basically drug mules for the US Government. So were gonna fund a fight you started with tax payer money? Seems like the government should really tell the truth to the American people on why we were in Afghanistan, because about 90 percent of the worlds opium is from Afghanistan.
