While it is unclear if today's arrest of a US citizen - the third such detention by the North Korean government - will be a key topic, a State Department official said in a brief statement that “we are aware of reports that a U.S. citizen was detained in North Korea," and added that "in cases where U.S. citizens are reported to be detained in North Korea, we work with the Swedish Embassy, which serves as the United States’ Protecting Power in North Korea. Due to privacy considerations, we have no further comment."
Now the plans for Trump on North Korea are still unknown, but it should remain that way because the surprise should remain a secret until it happens. However what this shows is that Trump is in some shape or form ready to take on North Korea, especially after their threats of annihilating America, taking out a carrier, and now arresting US citizens. Now you're guess is as good as mine since this meeting is being announced after an arrest of a US citizen today in North Korea, so my guess would be special op units could be what Trump uses in North Korea should he make a decision.
Now the good thing about this is that Trump is being diplomatic by contacting China before this April 26th meeting to discuss North Korea, so it's likely Trump could be making military plans to end Kim Jung Un with China's President Xi in his phone call to China tonight. It looks like things are now heating up with Korea now that they have threatened to take out the Carl Vinson strike group, and also by arrresting an American citizen for unknown reasons. All we can say right now at this point is it looks like Trump is now beyond fed up with North Korea, now that he is contacting China on the issue, and now scheduling a top level briefing on North Korea for April 26th.
