An American serviceman has become the second to be killed by Islamic State after fighters broke through the line of defense during an operation in northern Iraq.Defense Secretary Ash Carter confirmed Tuesday that the serviceman died near the city of Irbil, telling the Associated Press it was a “combat death”. NBC News says the soldier was on an advance-and-assist mission with the Kurdish Peshmerga when Islamic State fighters penetrated the line of defense. The serviceman was killed by direct fire. He is the second American serviceman to be killed by the terror group. In October last year, Master Sgt Joshua Wheeler was killed during a raid to rescue hostages held by Islamic State. The hostages were successfully rescued in Iraq following a tip-off they were about to be murdered by the Islamists. Pentagon spokesman Peter Cook said at the time: “In this support role, we’re allowed to defend ourselves and defend partner forces and protect against the loss of innocent lives. And that’s what played out in this particular mission.” Didn't Obama tell us that the mission of soldiers in Iraq and Afghanistan were for training purposes, and not for combat missions? That's right Obama told us that lie!! We have about under 1000 armed men and women service members currently in Iraq and Syria, doing "training missions" to train the "moderate rebels". Wouldn't really be surpirsed if the ISIS fighter that killed this NAVY SEAL was one of those trained "moderate rebels" we supported with weapons and fighter training in Iraq and Syria. What happened to the promise of no boots on the ground, when this marks the second American KIA by ISIS. Two things come to mind with this killed in action death in Iraq. One where was the vote by congress and the senate to send soldiers to Iraq and Syria, oh ya duh the new AUMF that gives Obama powers to use our military where ever and whenever he chooses to without a Constitutional vote by the senate or congress. Two this seems like boots on the ground now in Iraq and Syria, when Obama told us no boots would be used on the ground.
